Since 2020, Phyllis Hollis has cultivated Cerebral Women as a platform dedicated to amplifying underrepresented voices in the arts. Through thoughtful conversations and consistent programming, her work creates space for artists and art professionals to share their experiences, perspectives, and practices in their own words. For most of the past six years, the platform has released conversations every Wednesday, now evolving to arrive on most Wednesdays.

In June 2023, Hollis contributed to The Brooklyn Rail Critics Page with the timely reflection, “Is Our Obsession with Money a Curse to Humanity?”—a question that resonates deeply within today’s evolving art landscape. That same year, she was connected to the official trailer for Who’s Behind Black Art, a project spotlighted alongside Christie's, reinforcing her proximity to conversations shaping both institutional and cultural narratives.

At the core of her practice is a dedication to producing monthly podcast conversations that center and represent artists, creating space for deeper dialogue and direct access to voices that are often overlooked. Through this work, artists are not only heard, but documented and archived in real time.

With a red lip smile and a graceful bonjour from Paris, Phyllis Hollis opens the door to a world shaped by conversation, cultural exchange, and the voices of artists often left unheard. Expanding her platform internationally, Hollis will launch Cerebral Women in Paris at the end of May—an ongoing project centered around a singular, essential question: What is the purpose of art? A question she poses to every guest, continuing her commitment to thoughtful, artist-centered dialogue.

You can support and follow her continued contributions to the art world by tuning into her podcast on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, iHeartRadio, SoundCloud, Deezer, Audible, and Amazon Music, where her ongoing conversations continue to center and elevate artists across disciplines.
