The Freedom Magazine

Soul Search Art Magazine: Vol. 1 marks the beginning of Soul Search Art’s journey into independent publishing, artist storytelling, and cultural documentation. This inaugural volume explores freedom, cultural identity, representation, the Black experience, individuality, community, and artistic expression through the work and personal stories of contemporary artists.

Featured artists include Qrcky, Demarcus McGaughey, Malik Whitaker, Rim The Artist, Jeremy J. Turpin, Chris Watts, Neil Anthony Edwards, Destinie Adelakun, Darlene Deloris, Ifeoma, and many more. Moving across New York, New Jersey, Baltimore, Tampa, Pittsburgh, Toronto, Lagos, and beyond, Freedom brings together distinct creative voices whose practices explore heritage, spirituality, the African diaspora, identity, resilience, transformation, and the desire for freedom.

The volume also features Rim The Artist gracing the cover with artwork from his 2025 New York City solo exhibition, A Bronx Tale, connecting the magazine’s original celebration of his artistic journey with a defining moment in his evolving career.

Through intimate interviews, artist profiles, and visual storytelling, preserves the voices, experiences, and creative legacies of the artists who helped shape the beginning of the Soul Search Art archive.
